The ATSAF Academy is coming to an end and no further applications can be accepted. The PhD and JSP scholarship programs will continue as part of the newly established “Germany - CGIAR++ Science and Impact Hub” supported by CIFOR-ICRAF and ATSAF, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) through the Fund International Agricultural Research (FIA).

ATSAF Academy
The aim of the ATSAF Academy is to involve PhD candidates and Junior Scientists from German universities and from universities of OECD-DAC Partner countries in CGIAR research projects and in this way strengthen the links between German universities and international, development-oriented agricultural research. The ATSAF Academy currently comprises two scholarship programs:
Career Exploration Scholarship (JST - Junior Scientists Tandems)
These projects are commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and are carried out by ATSAF e.V. on behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
ATSAF e.V. is the scientific umbrella organization of German development-oriented, international research in agricultural, resource and environmental sciences. Its mandate is to link universities and research institutions in Germany with CGIAR centers and numerous universities in partner countries.
