PhD Research Scholarship
The aim of the ATSAF Academy PhD Research Scholarship is to involve PhD students that are enrolled at German universities in CGIAR research projects and in this way strengthen the links between German universities and international, development-oriented agricultural research.
In order to be eligible for support, the PhD student must be hosted by a CGIAR Center, attached to an ongoing CGIAR research activity, best in form of an international, multidisciplinary project, and jointly supervised by a CGIAR senior scientist and a Professor from a German university. The envisaged PhD project must be complementary and provide an added value to the ongoing CGIAR research activity.
Students must enroll into a PhD study program at a German University but do not need to be German nationals. Applicants from CGIAR partner countries are welcome and we particularly encourage female students to apply.
The ATSAF Academy offers a scientific support program for its PhD scholars in the form of courses and seminars, which are recognized in the respective universities for the structured PhD programs.
